It’s 7:27am on Labor Day 2019. The house is quiet, with Hubbin & littles sleeping in heavenly peace. I, on the other hand, have been up since 6:00…on a holiday…when I don’t have to be up. And for what, you may ask? Pre-K, potty-training, and pampering. Pumpkin starts Pre-K tomorrow, so I’m going down my mental “Day before school starts” checklist to be completed before the day ends. *Cue impending doom music* Hair to styled, uniforms to be ironed and set out for the week, lunch boxes to be packed…the list goes on & on. Suddenly, I find myself thinking about potty-training Pops (my brain is weird like that). With that one thought, an overwhelming sense of dread and anxiety wash over me like a soul-crushing wave! Ok…that’s a bit dramatic. But, seriously, have you tried potty-training a boy? It’s THE WORST!!! Nobody warned us. You take 3 steps forward and get knocked back 30,000. It’s horrible. Some days are pretty good…others not so much, but we’re putting in the work to get it done.
So what do I do with all this stuff? How do I get it done & not lose myself in the process? This is one of my favorite parts. PAMPERING!!!! It doesn’t even matter what your brand of pampering is. Maybe you like manis & pedis, maybe you enjoy cooking, maybe you like to sit & do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Whatever your brand of relaxing is, do it and do it often. It’s one of the best things you can do for you and your family.

Potty train is very difficult when it comes to boys! Not looking forward to it with Ja’Meir 🙈
